Are the vacation homes pools screened?
Yes, you can sit outside all evening with no bugs. You can't do that at a resort or hotel where there is no pool screening. The screened pool area is just like another room of the villa.

Will there be pool toys at the vacation home?
Our cleaning staff has been instructed to not to remove any good usable pool toys from the vacation homes. We always leave pool toys when we vacation and many guests do buy pool toys. Most often when we arrive we find pool toys and then usually buy more toys from the grocery store. We do not however have the property manager purchase pool toys.

Is a pool cover provided?
Yes, a pool cover is provided for use during the fall, winter, and spring months.

Should we use the pool cover?
It is a must to use the pool cover.

During the months of October, November, December, January, February, and March the pool will loose heat for the nights are cool. For these months we have provided a plastic cover for the pool and spa. This better enables the heat to stay in the pool and spa during the night. Keeping the cover on the pool and spa greatly assists the heater in maintaining the pool temperature.

Pool heaters can only work so hard, so if we help them by not allowing the pool to get too cool at night it allows them to keep the temperature at a more comfortable level. By putting the cover on the pool at night you help prevent a cool night from lowering the water temperature so you will not have to wait all day for the pool to heat up again.

Pool Heater

Do I need to touch the pool heater?
NO, absolutely NOT. The pool heaters are programmed and touching them will mess up the settings. Messed up setting means NO pool heat! A service person will need to come out the home and redo all of the heater settings, and then the pool will need to heat up again. Do not let any member or your group touch the pool heater controls.

Our pool heaters are all brand new and are the most expensive ones on the market. They are computerized and messing up the heating cycles is a problem. Our pool heaters do not just have an on off switch. They are timed to come on at a certain time and go off at a certain time, and to heat to a specific temperature.

If we run the spa all day will the pool heat?
No, the pool and spa run off of the same system.

Pool Alarms

Are the vacation homes equipped with pool alarms?
Yes, all of our homes have the same type of pool alarm.

How does the pool alarm work?
There is a button on the interior and exterior side of the patio door leading to the pool area. This button is beyond the reach of children. Push the button and then go through the door and the alarm will not activate. The idea is that if young children open the door the alarm will sound before they have a chance to reach the water so that someone can reach them before they endanger themselves. It takes a bit of getting used to for adults, but it is well worth the small inconvenience to ensure the lives of our young ones.

If the pool alarm is triggered, just push the button and it will stop ringing.

Can the pool alarms be turned off?
NO, absolutely not. It is against the law and you will be billed for any damages to the pool alarm system. The pool alarms are provided for your children's safety.

Is a pool alarm necessary?
It is the law in Florida that all doors leading to the pool area have alarms. Pool alarms are there for your children's safety. These alarms are hard wired and cannot be disconnected. We ask that you do not tamper with these alarms in any way.
